Leoni's swan-inspired nursery
From the moment I found out I was having a girl, I knew swans would be the inspiration behind her nursery.
Why, you may ask?
First, because they mate for life, and we had swan-inspired decor at our wedding. Second, because they hold a symbolic meaning for me due to popping up at special moments in my life. Lastly, I wanted a theme that embodies elegance and grace, and this was it.
Because swan themed decor is eye-catching on its own, I wanted to choose a style that would be clean and simple — something that wouldn’t clash with the theme, but also could be repurposed in years to come — so I decided on modern. I also saw my favorite influencer, Lindsi Lane, share her son’s crib that was acrylic all around, which caught my eye because I loved that it blended well with the room and allowed her to see the baby without barriers. With these two ideas in mind, I set out to find an affordable version of her crib, which is where my nursery journey began.
dresser | canopy | sheets | blanket | diaper caddy | changing pad (the best)
lamp | swan rocker | swivel recliner | curtains | swan stuffed animal
I also wanted gold accents, which we incorporated through little things like closet door pulls, furniture finishes, and decor.
The feather lamp was a Home Goods find… The second I saw the feathers, I knew I had to have it as it perfectly embodied the theme. I also opted for her name’s initial as an accent over the dresser because I’ve seen the full name etching a lot and wanted something different. The foam flowers are from Hobby Lobby.
